Sculpture
The designs on this style of monument carving are hand chiseled by a stone sculptor.
Flat Carving
This is the most basic type of carving. It is a line drawing that is sandblast carved into the monument.
Shaped Carving
This type of carving is done by sandblasting with a small hand held tool to enable the memorial artist to three dimensionally shape the design.
Etching
A diamond tipped hand etching tool or a computer driven laser is used to engrave the image onto the monument.
